We have chosen to use the word investment, not to advise you to buy this or that bottle in order to make a capital gain in a few years' time, but rather to invest in certain estates or appellations that will be more difficult to access financially in a few years' time.
GREAT TERROIRS
Located in the Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet wines are produced in the Côte-d'Or department, more specifically in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet, but also in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. The vines are mainly Chardonnay, white grapes, with a small proportion of reds and Pinot Noir. The white wines are full-bodied, fruity and above all very mineral. The reds are delicate, fine and complex. The appellation was instituted in 1937 and is small in size at 128.55 hectares.
- 95.92 hectares of Chardonnay are planted in the village appellation and premier cru.
- 0.36 hectares are Pinot Noirs, but are located in the hamlet of Blagny.
- 32.27 hectares of vines are classified as Grands Crus, producing only white wines.
Among these hectares are some of the world's finest white wines. The wines owe their complexity and, above all, their minerality to the diversity of the soils. Brown limestone alternates with marly clay-limestone soils.
BIG NAMES
The wines of Puligny are brimming with great wines and great names from the world of wine. Some, thanks to their terroir, others have made significant contributions to biodynamic viticulture. All these wines can be found on the finest Michelin-starred tables and expert wine merchants. Some houses are so emblematic that they are not good investments due to their very high prices, but they are among the finest estates in the world. These include Domaine Ramonet with its Chevalier Montrachet grand cru, and Maison Leroy. Then the wines of Puligny-Montrachet had the honor of welcoming Domaine Leflaive and in particular Anne Claude Leflaive, a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy who died in 2015 of cancer. All these wines are of great purity, enormous ageing potential and rare aromatic complexity.

Domaine Ponsot
The story begins in 1872, giving you an idea of the footprint Domaine Ponsot has left on Burgundy's vineyards. At that time, William Ponsot bought a property in Morey-Saint-Denis and began the family adventure. Several generations succeeded one another in running the estate. Highly reputed for their clonal selection, many of the vines planted came from a Clos de la Roche stock. This was followed by the purchase of new plots and a major international expansion. Today, the estate is managed by Rose-Marie Ponsot, assisted by Alexandre Abel.

Chavy-Chouet
"Perfection is in the details, and perfection is not a detail." This is the guiding principle of the young generation of these two families, who have been in love with the terroir for 7 generations. Romaric has been at the helm of the estate on his own since 2006, bringing with him a wealth of experience he has accumulated in the four corners of the globe.
Romaric juggles tradition and innovation, farming with respect for the environment. Sensitive and uncompromising, the wines are the image of their winemaker: simple, straightforward and unpretentious.
Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières 2019
This tiny parcel of Puligny-Montrachet is 0.3 hectares in size, made from 100% Chardonnay. The vines are planted on poor soils. The result is a wine that is dense, opulent and rich on the palate. In its youth, the wine offers aromas of white fruit and toast, brought on by its time in barrel, but after a few years, it gains in complexity and finesse, with floral nuances. We recommend that you leave this vintage in the cellar for a few more years to discover its full potential.

Blain Gagnard
Jean-Marc Blain, a native of the Sancerrois region, has been a rising star in recent years. The estate owes its name to his marriage to Claudine Gagnard in 1980.
Present in some twenty appellations, the estate is one of the few to own a few vines in the emblematic Criot-Bâtard-Montrachet.
The domaine's wines are fine and delicate, but some parcels with marl soils produce more powerful wines.
Puligny Montrachet 2017
La Propriété is on a par with the domaine's reputation in Chassagne. Very high quality!
The limestone soils give the wines a superb minerality (flint), fine, delicate wines with a framework of sweet, honeyed spices.
The wines are traditionally vinified and aged for 11 months in oak barrels, with the proportion of new barrels ranging from 15% to 30%.

François Carillon
François Carillon heads a family estate that dates back to the 16th century. Renowned for his elegance and precision, the winemaker works hard on his 16 hectares of vines, where Chardonnay is king with 90% of the plantation. François has been working with his father and brother since 1988, but the vineyard will be split between the two brothers in 2010. Today, François has 6.5 hectares of vines and also runs a wine merchant business.
Puligny Montrachet 2018
His Puligny-Montrachet delivers a fine, floral wine with a nose of white flowers.
The mid-palate is buttery, fat and very intense. The finish is tauter and more precise, with citrus and lemon notes.
The 2018 vintage is a super vintage, allowing us to open bottles when young and enjoy a more gourmand, sunnier palate. When young, it will be perfect with white fish accompanied by a hollandaise sauce. Older, it will go well with poultry and mushrooms.
